Annual Camp Monarch
Camps for children who love to create, dance, sing and perform!
July 9 - 20, 2018
Camp Monarch is an annual two week summer day camp intended for children with a genuine interest in music, art, dance and musical theatre. Students of all abilities are welcome.
Director, Erin Deighton, has been running music, art and dance camps for the past 15 years. Monarch Arts Education's goal is to motivate children to achieve their true potential in the arts within a positive and encouraging environment.
This season’s show, Tales of Travel, is a new trio of folk tales; Look Behind As Well As Before from the Congo, Tikki Tikki Tembo from China, and Bremen Town Musicians from Germany. Each tale is delightfully woven together with music, storytelling, movement and images from these rich and varied cultures. We hope your children can join Camp Monarch from July 9-20, 2018!
Our program is held at Presentation House Theatre, 333 Chesterfield Ave. in North Vancouver, BC. Classes run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with one hour for lunch.
Before and After Camp Care is available (8:00 am to 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm). After Camp Care is not available on the last day of the summer camp, due to the final performance.
Students are divided into groups according to age and experience.
The second week of the summer camp finishes with a performance for family and friends. The performance runs from 2:30 to 3:30 on the last day, followed by a reception and gallery showcasing the camper's art.
To guarantee individual attention, class sizes will be limited. Register early!
