Manami Hara

Theatre Instructor

Manami, originally from Tokyo, Japan, moved to North America to follow her dream of becoming a theatre artist. Over the last thirty years, she has flourished in various roles such as actor, playwright, instructor, interpreter/translator, dramaturge, and director.

She recently appeared in Marjorie Chan’s "CHINA DOLL" at the Gateway Theatre and in Tetsuro Shigematsu’s "KUROKO" produced by vAct at the Cultch. Manami's career spans several prestigious Canadian companies, including Arts Club, Boca del Lupo, Carousel Theatre, The Cultch, Factory Theatre, Firehall Arts Centre, Frank Theatre, Globe Theatre, Grand Theatre, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Theatre, and many others.

A Jessie Richardson Award winner and nominee, Manami is celebrated for her acting and collaborative projects. She's a proud instructor at both the Gateway Theatre Academy and the Golden Firefly program at Presentation House Theatre, where she shares her passion for theatre making, acting, storytelling, and ensemble work with students of all ages. Manami is thrilled to continue her journey of teaching and creating at Camp Monarch this summer, always ready to infuse fun and excitement into her work!
